It's 2010!

Hey there all y'all out there in Blogland,

It's been awhile. Life has been moving right along. Things are much the same with me; still working and still single...

We had a nice summer with Christina nearer. She rented a place in San Francisco with a few other gals. She had a great time there.

In October, I visited Christina at Babson College for Family Weekend. We had a nice time together.

Christina came home for Thanksgiving, 2009 and Christmas, 2009. She is now in Switzerland working on a week-long business consulting project.

She's Back

Yeah, Christina is back in California for the summer. We celebrated over chicken verde enchiladas and chili and had 2 cakes; one chocolate on chocolate for Brittany's birthday and a white cake with strawberries and whipped cream frosting for Christina. Christina showed photos from a few of the countries she visited on her laptop, but wants to prepare a slideshow that can be viewed on a bigger screen. May take a special adaptor for our not-so-new big screen T.V. After most of our party guests had gone home, Christina shared several videos from her travels. Now, those really gave one the sense of being there. They're fabulous.

Sin City

Brittany and I spent a few days in Las Vegas recently. We had a blast! A big highlight or our visit was going to see Legends in Concert. The Elvis impersonator, Matt Lewis, was fabulous. Both Brittany and I are now big fans!

It's going to be such fun to go back to Las Vegas sometime with Christina. And, to make the most of it, I think we'll wait until she turns 21. Maybe a rendevous there next Thanksgiving?

Christina's Bound For Kobe

No, not Bryant! Next stop, Kobe, Japan! Christina's dad may be joining her in Japan so they can explore together.

I don't have specific information about Christina's time in Hong Kong, Beijing, or Shanghai. But, I did verify with her that she finally rode an elephant! In Pattaya, Thailand, she rode for about an hour. And, from what she tells me, she's becoming an avid ATV enthusiast. At last count, she had been on four different outings involving riding quads.

After Japan, MV Explorer will continue on to Honolulu, Hawaii. I will be meeting Christina there for the 2-day, 1-night stay. Can't hardly wait!

I'm Scaring Myself

Is that how you spell "scaring", as in every time I open my blog I'm frightened by the face starring back at me. Is that how you spell "starring", as is gazing intently... Anyway, does anyone know how I can make that picture smaller now that it's been posted?

The Girl's in Asia

Well, for all of you out there awaiting an update on Christina's travels, I can tell you that she had a wonderful time in Mauritius, and eye-opening, mind-expanding experiences in India. She's almost to Thailand and will surely have a blast on Koh Samet. From what I can see on the internet, the beaches there are fabulous.

Christina posts photos

And, they are fabulous. Can't wait to see photos from safari. And, to hear about other adventures in South Africa.
Brittany and I went to Monterey on Saturday for a cousin's wedding. The Chapel in the Woods near RLS school in Pebble Beach was a lovely setting for these two young people to have their ceremony. The reception was in the Del Monte Club, a big ballroom, in the historic hotel at The Naval Postgraduate School. We had a lovely time and enjoyed seeing all our family.

Christina and Morocco

Yeah, Christina posted a blog about her visit to Morocco. Good goin' girl! Hopefully, she'll tell all of what she did in Namibia.

News from Namibia

I received a phone call from Christina from Swakopmund, Namibia this morning. She and some other students stayed a couple nights in a backpackers lodge there. When she told me how much she loved this area, I was surprised. She said the dessert is beautiful. Somehow I didn't expect this. Afterall, the area has been described by the Bushmen of the Namibian interior as "the land God made in anger", while Portuguese sailors once referred to it as "the gates of hell". Anyway, Christina and some of her SAS friends had lots of fun riding quads on the dunes. She said she was sunburn, though it's uncertain she was overexposed while on the dunes or on the beach. She said they'll be out to sea for a day before arriving Cape Town.
